Barcelona are set for legal battle with Neymar, over an outstanding €26million (£23.5million) loyalty bonus owed to the player.

Spanish newspaper, Sport, which has close ties to the Nou Camp, claims Barca and Brazilian are heading to court.

Under the terms of the new contract Neymar signed last summer with the La Liga giants, the 25-year-old and his representatives were to be paid the sum on July 31, if he was still at the club.

Neymar’s transfer to Paris Saint-Germain was not completed until August 3, meaning that technically he is owed the money.

But Barcelona are refusing to pay up and are prepared to fight against it.

They claim Neymar’s deal with PSG was agreed weeks ago and are ready to take the matter to court.
